They are doing this in two phases, beginning with a qualitative assessment to lay the groundwork for a more in-depth quantitative analysis. This report provides the results of the first phase. One of the goals of this phase was to uncover a managerially agreed-upon definition of Big Data. Such agreement is needed to develop any level discussion of what managers are collecting, manipulating, and exchanging. They also developed this study to begin developing an understanding of best practices concerning supply partnerships and Big Data.
