|a The purpose of this review is to evaluate the guidelines for endovascular thrombectomy for patients who have had ischemic stroke. A previous Summary with Critical Appraisal was conducted in 2015 reviewed endovascular therapy (EVT). The report found that the incidence of favourable outcomes was higher in patients treated with EVT compared with patients treated with a comparator. As the clinical effectiveness of EVT has been well established, guidelines regarding patients selection and optimal treatment regime for EVT can be useful for clinicians and patients who are involved with this treatment
