Description
Summary:The interwar period in Austria was marked by serious political changes, social upheavals and economic crises. Nevertheless, it was, at least well into the 1920s, an era of intellectual and artistic productivity and Vienna, as the capital of the newly founded Republic of Austria, could continue to be considered one of the intellectual centers of Europe. Against this background, Judith Kopecky devotes herself to the study of contemporary Austrian Song creations of these years, whereby, inspired by recent cultural studies-oriented studies, a single year, namely 1928, is brought into the center of research interest from a variety of perspectives in the spirit of Geertz's concept of 'thick description'
