Summary:This document presents the synthesis and recommendations of the expert group convened by Inserm in the context of the collective expert review procedure to reply to the request of the Social Regimen for Free-Lance Workers (RSI), formerly known as the Canam, relating to dyslexia, dysorthography and dyscalculia. The document is based on the scientific data available as at the second half of 2006. Over 2,000 articles constituted the document base for this expert review. The Inserm center for collective expert reviews ensured the scientific and editorial coordination of this collective expert review. In the context of the mission of accompanying collective expert reviews set up by Christian Brechot, Director General of Inserm, the expert review benefited from the advice of Jean-Marie Danion, Professor of Psychiatry, representing the Directorate General of Inserm, Jean-Claude Ameisen, Chairman of the Inserm Ethics Committee, and members of the Department of Scientific Information and Communication directed by Pascale Sillard and Patrick Chanson
