Description
Summary:A Jobs diagnostic is the first analytic step in an operational framework designed to help countries achieve inclusive economic growth through faster growth in labor incomes. Created for IDA countries under IDA17, its purpose is to guide policy makers and development practitioners in the design of country jobs strategies. Jobs strategies comprise policy reforms, regulations and investments to improve labor incomes and working conditions, especially for targeted vulnerable groups. Strategies provide solutions to problems identified and validated at the diagnostic stage. Jobs Diagnostics explore how workers benefit from growth with economic transformation. This note first explains the thinking behind relating jobs outcomes to economic transformation, then provides a succinct summary of the jobs diagnostic approach as a series of key steps. It is supplemented by more detailed online guidance with examples, which can be found at each of the web links embedded
