Andreas Heinemann gives a survey of intellectual property competition law in the USA, Germany, the European Union and in international economic law, including an economic analysis of the subject matter. He criticizes the traditional approach, according to which an intellectual property law is immune to the application of antitrust law, and maintains that reflections must be made within the interpretation of competition law rules. In this way it will be possible to achieve a balance between the protection of intellectual property and competition policy.
