Summary: | Conclusions Reduced symptoms (moderately strong scientific evidence), improved quality of life (strong scientific evidence), and improvement in the severity level of disease (strong scientific evidence) were found in comparing cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) against pharmacotherapy (strong scientific evidence) alone. Furthermore, the results from 2 trials with followup after 12 months showed some reduction in the mortality risk for CRT compared to pharmacotherapy (strong scientific evidence). The scientific evidence is insufficient to determine the long-term effects and cost effectiveness of the method |
