| Summary: | This document draws on lessons learnt at country, regional and global levels over the past 30 years. It also builds on the current momentum to act with urgency to reverse the spread of epidemics, strengthen systems and address inequities. The WHO Stop TB Strategy 9 and the Stop TB Partnership's Global Plan to Stop TB, 2006-2015 demonstrate the commitment of the TB control community to contribute to stronger health systems and thereby greater health impact. It is impossible to offer detailed global guidelines on how best to contribute: given the diversity of health systems and the range of determinants of disease and vulnerability, we feel that the most useful approach is to offer a broad framework on how national TB programmes can contribute to this challenging agenda. We hope we can help countries and partners further document their progress and problems in the coming years |
