|a The guideline covers adults and children (from birth) with lower urinary tract dysfunction resulting from neurological disease or injury. The clinical areas covered included: assessment of lower urinary tract function and criteria for referral to specialist assessment; physical interventions to aid urinary storage including behaviour and bladder training, pelvic floor muscle exercises and neuromuscular stimulation; pharmacological therapies to aid urinary storage and surgical procedures to treat incontinence and improve bladder storage capacity; physical aids and drug therapy to improve bladder emptying; urinary diversion procedures; and appliances and equipment to contain urinary incontinence
