It examines German influences on the Mercersburg theologian Emanuel Vogel Gerhart (1817-1904) and Princeton's Charles Hodge (1797-1878), and shows how they engaged with the ideas of their German counterparts to reformulate existing theological definitions and methods, resulting in an active period of cross-fertilisation in theology |
