Ward are included in the list of booksellers from vol. 3 onwards. - The title is transcribed from the general titlepage in vol. 1 of the 24th edition of 1748 usually found with the 12th edition of vols. 2-8. - Vol. 1 is a translation of 'L'Esploratore turco .. ' by G. P. Marana, originally published in Paris in 1684; subsequent volumes have been variously attributed, but were probably edited by Robert Midgley from William Bradshaw's translation of the original Italian MS
