The whole being an essay towards answering three important queries, viz. 1. What is truth in the present religiou commotions in this land? 2. What is the shortest method of finding the whole truth? 3. Whether such as are given to change, ought not in conscience to make their publick retractations, according to St. Austin? Gilbert Tennent and his associates, together with six Rev. ministers of Boston, from the unjust reflections cast upon them by the author of that anonymous pamphlet, together with some remarks upon the Querist's, the third part, and other of their performances. The whole being an essay to vindicate the late glorious work of God's power and grace in these lands, from the unreasonable cavils and exceptions of said pamphlet, and others of like nature.
