An humble attempt to vindicate the principles and characters of the burgher seceders, from the groundless aspersions cast upon them by Mr. Robert Smith, Minister of the Antiburgher congregation at Auchenleck, in his pamphlet, intitled, Self-Inconsistency exemplified: wherein the Burghers opposition to their own profession of religion is demonstrated. To which is subjoined, the Act o the Associate Synod, met at Stirling, the 29th of October, 1747, declaring the nullity of the pretended synod, that first met in Mr. Gib's house in Bristo, near Edinburgh, April 10th, 1747
