|a Production and consumption of various plastics have continued to expand due to their light weight, durability, and low production cost. Thailand still lacks a specific action plan and mechanism to address marine plastic debris. To this end, the Thai government requested assistance from the World Bank in developing an action plan that comprehensively prevents and reduces waste generation from all known sources and consolidates future actions by every relevant sector. Thailand's draft action plan on marine plastic debris 2023-2027 provides a framework for actions by relevant sectors in supporting the roadmap on plastic waste management 2018-2030
