Description
Summary:This volume contains the proceedings of the 1988 SEI Conference on Software Engineering Education. The Software Engineering Institute (SEI) is a United States government-funded research and development center operated by Carnegie Mellon University. Its principal responsibility is to accelerate the reduction to practice of modern software engineering techniques and methods. An annual activity of the SEI is the SEI Conference on Software Engineering Education. The purpose of the conference is to promote enhanced software engineering education in the academic, industrial, and government educational communities, and to promote interactions among educators in these three communities. The 1988 conference included refereed papers, panel discussions, reports and demonstrations from the SEI. Special emphasis was placed on master's degree level software engineering curricula, the content of software engineering courses, and the introduction of software engineering into undergraduate computer science curricula. The proceedings contain fifteen refereed papers, the keynote address, and a report on curriculum recommendations from the SEI. This volume is particularly useful to software engineering and computer science educators in both the academic and industrial communities
