Item Description: | Advertised in the United States chronicle, Providence, Sept. 29, 1785. - Alden notes two states. In one (state A), p. [24] ends with three humorous poems. In another state (state B), p. [24] ends with a request from the printer. - Alden, J.E. Rhode Island, 1002. - Attributed to Benjamin West by Evans. The author introduces himself, p. [17-18], as though for the first time: "I am a stranger to that part of the public where my labours are now to appear."
