Item Description:"I send you with this the letter that was writ by the Lords of Her Majesties Privy Council to my Lord Archbishop of Canterbury, which you see His Grace has transmitted to me". The Privy Council letter is dated: "the fourth of April, 1706" and the Archishop of Canterbury's covering letter dated: April 13th, 1706. - English Short Title Catalog, T231559. - Reproduction of original from Cambridge University Library. - The Privy Council letter begins: After our very hearty commendations to your Grace: whereas the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, have, by their humble address, acquainted Her Majesty with several instances of the very great boldness and presumption of the Romish priests and papists in this kingdom, together with their humble opinion, that for the safety of Her Majesties Royal person and government, a more watchful eye should be had over them for the future. - The letter is dated: 25 April, 1706
