Item Description:Advertised in the Massachusetts gazette and Boston post-boy, Oct. 17-24, 1774. - Bickerstaff = Benjamin West. - By Benjamin West. Cf. Nichols, C.L. "Notes on the almanacs of Massachusetts." Proceedings of the American Antiquarian Society, n.s. v. 22 (1912): 34-35, and the Dictionary of American biography. The eclipse predictions and the notes on the calendar pages are practically identical with those in West's The New-England almanack, or Lady's and gentleman's diary, for 1775 (Providence). The calculations for the moon's place, rising, and setting are also identical, though the others vary, being for Boston rather than Providence. - Drake, M. Almanacs, 3244. - Drake, M.
